Robert Schiller (born in 1964) studied Biology, Musicology and Philosophy at the University of Graz and taught guitar and Baroque lute at the Styrian State Conservatory.
On completion of the basic training for the Library, Information and Documentation Service, he has worked at the University Library at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz since 1991. He has been the Library Director there since 2002 and, since 2010, he has become the Director of the University Library, Archive and Musical Instrument Collection organisational unit (UBam).

Maria Seissl (born in 1959) studied English and American Studies at the University of Innsbruck and completed the training in Innsbruck and Vienna for the Library, Information and Documentation Service. From 1991 – 1996, she was a subject specialist at the Innsbruck University Library. From 1997 – 1999, she was Head of the Specialist Library for German Studies at the University of Innsbruck. In 2000, Seissl moved to the Vienna University Library and was Vice Director until 2003. In 2004, she was entrusted with the management of the Library and Archive Service Facility at the University of Vienna.
Seissl worked as a lecturer in English Studies and in the training of librarians; from 1992-2000, held the post of editor of the memoranda of the Association of Austrian Librarians; from 2002-2013 exercised the office of Vice President of the Association of Austrian Librarians; and since 2004 has been the organisational course leader of the Library and Information Studies university course at the University of Vienna. From 2006-2009, she held the post of Chair of the Syndicate (ARGE) of Library Directors.

Christian Gumpenberger (born in 1969) studied Veterinary Medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna and Library and Information Management at the Danube University Krems. For more than 15 years, he has been an information specialist with experience in the international environment of scientific-library and information management in university fields, in industry and in his own consulting firm.
Since 2010, he has been Assistant Head of the Department for Bibliometrics and Publication Strategies at the University of Vienna and has been involved with outreach and various projects in the field of research support.
In addition, since the end of 2010, he has been the Coordinator of the Forum of Austrian University Libraries (ubifo).

After studying History at the University of Vienna, in 1988, Bruno Bauer (born in 1963) took up a post at the Vienna University Library. On completion of his training as a librarian, he was the Assistant Head of the Faculty Library for Medicine at the University of Vienna and Vice Director of the Austrian Central Library for Medicine. Since 2005, he has managed the University Library of the Medical University of Vienna, the largest specialist medical library in Austria.Functions: He is a member of the Strategic Planning Work Group in the Austrian National Library Network, of the core team of the Open Access Network Austria (OANA) and of BAM Austria, a round table of libraries, archives and museums. Since 2009 he has been a member of the Executive Board of the Austrian National Library Network (VÖB). From 2009 to 2013, he was the Chairman of the Forum of Austrian University Libraries (ubifo); from 2014 to 2016, Chairman of the General Assembly of the e-Infrastructures Austria structurally funded higher education project. In addition, he teaches for the university course, Library and Information Studies, holds regular lectures and publishes publications on libraries, information and documentation; since 2002, he has held the post of Editor-in-Chief of GMS Medizin – Bibliothek – Information, the open access journal of the Syndicate of Medical Libraries

Nikolaus Berger (born in 1965) completed an Executive MBA (Master of Business Administration) at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and trained as a librarian, documentalist and information broker at the Vienna University Library and the Austrian National Library. After 8 years at the University of Vienna Law Faculty Library, he moved to the private sector. In the international law firm, Freshfield Bruckhaus Deringer, Berger set up libraries and information services and later, knowledge management in Germany, Austria and Eastern Central Europe. As Director of Knowledge Management, he made a substantial contribution to the company-wide strategies for knowledge management and library departments and was, for some time, the Chairman of the world-wide Library Steering Committee. After 15 years of activity in the international arena, in 2008, he assumed responsibility for the reorganisation of the library system for the Vienna University of Economics and Business and the planning of a new Library & Learning Centre. In December 2009, Berger took over the management of the Vienna University of Economics and Business Library. He is also a management consultant for knowledge management and a lecturer.

Susanne Casagranda (born in 1962) studied Law and completed the training for the User Group A Library, Documentation and Information Service at the Vienna University Library and the Austrian National Library.
She was appointed to the Linz University Library in 1987.
She oversaw a variety of specialist libraries, carried out activities in the most diverse departments of the University Library and in 2001 was appointed as Head of Division of the Law Faculty Library. Since 2010 Casagranda has been the Head Librarian at the University Library.

Kerstin Grossmaier-Stieg (born in 1974) studied Translation and Interpreting as well as Library and Information Studies at Vienna University. From 2007 until 2009 she was head of the Max Perutz Libary, which is part of IMP – Research Institute of Molecular Pathology, at Campus Vienna Biocenter. From 2009 until 2015 Grossmaier-Stieg worked at the Central Head Office of the Austrian Academic Consortium (AAC) and was the Director of the Head Office as of 2013. At the Austria Academic Consortium she was responsible for negotiating, managing and evaluating consortia for more than 60 academic and administrative libraries in Austria and she was the representative of the AAC both in Austria and abroad. She gained further experience working at the Austrian Library Network in the field of controlling and calculations. Since January 2019 Kerstin Grossmaier-Stieg has been Head of the University Library at Graz Medical University.

Andreas Ferus (born in 1979) studied History and also completed the advanced Library and Information Studies (MSc) study course at the University of Vienna. He started work in libraries, information and documentation in 2005 as a student member of staff of the University Library and Archive of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and has been Assistant Head of both of these since 2012. In November 2016, he was entrusted with the interim management of the University Library and Archive. In addition, he has been since 2013 one of the two open access delegated members of staff and an lecturer at the Institute for Art and Cultural Sciences at the Academy and a member of a large number of committees and work groups both within the university and outside it.

Beate Guba (born in 1968) studied German and Classical Philology and Library and Information Management. Her experience covers posts as a scientific member of staff at the Institute for German Language and Literature at the University of Vienna, and as a lecturer at the University of Bordeaux and the University of Vaasa. Thereafter, she was responsible for the digital library at the Salzburg Federal State Hospital / Paracelsus Medical University and for information management at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Health Technology Assessment. From 2008 – 2016, she managed the Faculty of Economics and Management Library at Berlin University of Technology. In July 2016, Beate Guba took over the management of the University Library at Vienna University of Technology.

Christian Hasenhüttl (born in 1961) studied at the University of Graz. Since 1998, he has been employed at the University Library of the University of Mining Leoben. Initially, Claudia Hausberger (born in 1965) completed a course as a retail saleswoman. She then attended the Business Academy for employed persons in Wörgl in Tyrol and from 1999, she was employed at the Innsbruck University Library. In 2000/2001, she completed basic librarian training and from 2004 – 2006, she studied Library and Information Management in Krems. On completing her studies, she moved to Vienna University Library, where she was employed in the field of journal management, was a member of the Steering Group for Strategic Development, and cooperated on a variety of projects, including Mentoring at Vienna University Library, “flying journal management” and a welcome kit for new members of staff. After her move to the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna in 2011, she was initially Assistant Head and since 1st October 2012, she has been the Head of the University Library.

Sybille Hentze (born 1971) studied from 1991 to 1993 at the University of Applied Sciences for Library Studies in Stuttgart and in 2001 she completed a Master’s course in French Studies and Art History at the University of Stuttgart. After periods spent in Belgium and France she moved to Vienna in 2002 and took over the management of the Albertina Museum library.
Since May 2017, she has been in charge of the University Library of the University for Applied Art of Vienna. Sybille is a specialist in the field of art and museum libraries and is in constant contact with network partners in Austria and abroad, such as the Syndicate of Art and Museum Libraries (AKMB) and the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA).

Martina Hörl studied Biology (branch of study Botany with subsidiary subject Microbiology) and trained as a librarian at the Vienna University Library and at the Austrian National Library: training course for User Group A – Library, Information and Documentation Service.
Since 1992, she has worked at the University Library of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna and in 1997, she was appointed to the post of Assistant Library Director. Hörl has managed the library since December 2007 and in 2008, her sphere of responsibility was expanded to include the University Archive.

Ulrike Kriessmann (born in 1960) studied Chemistry at the University of Graz and completed the basic training for User Group A Library, Information and Documentation Service at the Graz University Library and the Austrian National Library.
She began her career in 1992 at the Graz University of Technology University Library and initially was entrusted with content indexing. In 1998, she took over the management of the Users Department and in 2001, she became the Assistant Head of the University Library. Her activities focus on electronic media and the transfer of IT skills. From 2006 the setting up and further development of the Graz University of Technology publishing house has also become her responsibility. Since July 2015 she has managed the Library and Archive of the Graz University of Technology.

Manfred Lechner (born in 1964) studied History at the University of Graz. On completing his studies, he was a scientific member of staff at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Social and Cultural History Graz, lecturer at the University of Graz, Managing Director of the ‘UniShop’ book shop in Graz and a senior researcher at the Institute for History at the University of Graz. In 2003, Lechner was appointed to the post of Library Director at the University of Art and Design Linz. In addition, he exercises functions at the University of Art and Design Linz as Vice Rector for Research (2005 – 2011), Administrative Department for Finances (2011 – 2015) and as Vice Director for Finances (since 2015).

Eva Ramminger (born in 1966) began her career in 1985 at the Innsbruck University Library and in 1993, she completed a course in Art History and Classic Archaeology at the same university. Initially, she worked in the field of historic books and from 2000 she changed her specialist focus to the information field and undertook training as a librarian. In 2003, she moved to ETH Zurich and there she was responsible for the field of information and specialist libraries. From 2010 to 2016, she held the position of Library Director at the University Library at the Vienna University of Technology. In February 2016, she assumed management of the University and State Library Tyrol.

Barbara Schwarz-Raminger (born in 1966) ) studied Musicology and German Studies at the University of Salzburg and during her studies, she worked at the then Mozarteum University Library. Since that time she has worked in all the areas of work in a library. On completing the basic training for the Library, Information and Documentation Service, she was active as a speaker at brain-pool seminars and as a lecturer on the Information Careers University of Applied Sciences study course in Eisenstad in the fields of music, art and media documentation.
Since May 2018, Schwarz-Raminger has been the Head of the Mozarteum University Library.

Josef Steiner (born in 1955) studied Slavonic Philology and Turkish Studies and completed the basic training for the Library, Information and Documentation Service / User Group A.
In 1983, he started work at the Austrian National Library as a subject specialist for Slavonic Philology (specialism Russian) and Turkish Studies. From 2000 to 2002, Steiner was Head of the Nominal Classification Department. Since 2002, he has been Head of the Principal Stockpiling and Processing Department.
In addition, Steiner teaches on the Master of Science in Library and Information Studies university study course.

Lydia Zellacher (born in 1964) studied Education and Educational Sciences at the University of Klagenfurt. For some years, she worked at the University Library there as a student in the Service Department and later, she worked on the Karl Popper collection in a freelance capacity. Furthermore, at the Institute of Education, she completed a project on the topic of right-wing extremism and was involved in youth social work concerned with assisted living in Klagenfurt. She completed the advanced training for the Library and Information Service at the Vienna University Library. From 2001 to 2011, she was a subject specialist for Philosophy, Psychology, Education and Group Dynamics. For some years, she has been the local editor for subject indexing in the National Library Network. Since 2004, she has been Head of the Principal Department 1 for Stockpiling and Content Indexing. As from March 2012, she has been Head of the University Library of the Alpen Adria University Klagenfurt/Celovec.
